Norma Riveland passed away

Norma Jean Riveland, 84, of McGregor, Iowa, formerly of Luana, Iowa, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI, following a short illness. Norma was born on November 15, 1924, Luana, Iowa, to Clyde and Carrie (Mason) Hinman. She graduated from Luana High School, Luana, Iowa.

Norma was united in marriage to Adrian Riveland in 1949 in Mason City, Iowa. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the company of her family and friends. In her last years, she was especially happy being with her fellow residents of Turner Pointe Assisted Center, in McGregor, Iowa. She also enjoyed the wonderful staff there as well, all of whom become like an extended family to her.

Survivors include one son, Larry (Cindy) Riveland, Monona; one daughter, Lynn (Tom) Bellinger, Salem, OR; a step-son, Chase (Mary) Riveland, Deer Harbor, WA; granddaughter, Cara (Perry) Marsh-Rhodes; step granddaughters, Wendi (Mark) Hanson, Shirley (Tim) Lessard; great-granddaughter, Eden Marsh-Rhodes; step-great-grandsons, Joshua Hanson, Nicholas Pecinovsky; step-great-granddaughter, Ashley Pecinovsky, brother-in-law, Robert Collins, McGregor and nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service was held at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, IA. Interment at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Luana, IA. Leonard Funeral Home in Monona.

Norma did get to meet her new great-granddaughter the week before she died.
