George Wagner 116 years agao
From the Monona Outlook:
116 Years Ago --- Sept 24, 1896
Monona Leader
"Geo. Wagner sold 18 steers to Heiming Monday which brought $518.80. Pretty Good"
About $28.82 for each steer. I'm trying to decide if that is a good price or not.

Montour --- Garrett Montour, St. Olaf, Iowa, Obituary
Last summer Erik, Mom, Tiffany and I went to St. Olaf to meet Greg and Janet Montour and their son Garrett. Greg's g-grandfather, Benjamin, was a brother to my g-grandfather, Edward. We had a very nice talk. Greg didn't know anything about his Montour ancestors and was very happy to get information on them. I was hoping to get some information on Benjamin and his family, but of course I didn't. Garrett had suffered two brain injuries before he was 24. He was a sweet, gentle and happy individual. I enjoyed his facebook posts and will miss them.
